International Students Inc., Dakota Chapter is a student organization
dedicated to meeting the needs of International students at South
Dakota School of Mines & Technology (SDSM&T) and National American University
(NAU)
located at Rapid City, South Dakota, USA. ISI is a
non-denominational Christian Organization committed to meeting
the needs of International students through an nationwide network
of International student ministries.
ISI, Dakota Chapter exists to share Christ's love
with International students and to equip them for effective
leadership and service in the campus community.
ISI's Main
Objectives
To promote
friendship between International students and Americans.
To help
International students adjust to and enjoy their American
experience through a variety of recreational, social,
intellectual, cultural and spiritual activities.
To offer
individual and group Bible study and worship experiences to
promote understanding of the Bible, the Christian faith and the
Gospel of Jesus Christ.
To provide a
caring Christian community where the love of God can be
experienced through relationships with others and through faith
in Christ, and where Christian growth and service can occur.

ISI meets every
Friday evening in an American home starting at 6:30 PM. Students
enjoy a home cooked meal and a time of relaxed conversation and
making friends. The meal is followed by a time of singing and
worship, and introductions of new members.

Students then divide into small groups for discussion of various
spiritual topics. The evening ends with students enjoying
dessert, often celebrating someone's birthday and playing games.

ISI also hosts an International
Coffee House
every Tuesday evening starting at 7:00 PM. This is an opportunity
for students to sample coffee and teas from around the world.
Cookies and lots of goodies are also available. Students often
play games like pool or ping-pong. It is a great time to hangout
and make friends.

ISI also helps to
coordinate the Friendship
Family Program
for SDSM&T and NAU by matching American Families with
International students who sign up for the Friendship Family
Program.
